About Overseas Markets Immersion Programme (OMIP)

The Overseas Markets Immersion Programme (OMIP) supports companies with business plans to send new hires or existing employees with little or no relevant overseas experience in the market on overseas postings, to be reskilled into global/ regional roles with good prospects.

OMIP offers the following modalities:

  • Place-and-Train/ New Hires (9 Months)
  • Job Redesign Reskilling for Existing Employees need to be reskilled to in new markets and to take on regional/ global roles (9 Months)

    • PMETs = Professionals, Managers, Executives and Technicians (refer to SSOC Major Groups 1 to 3)
    • Rank and File (RnFs) = Non-PMETs
    Eligibility

    The company will need to meet the following criteria to be eligible for WSG funding support:

    • Must be able to offer full-time employment with a fixed monthly salary of at least S4,000 and the position must have at least a 12-month employment contract
    • To develop a structured On-the-Job Training (OJT) Plan and a Career Development Plan
    • Salary and Overseas allowance to be paid out by company registered or incorporated in Singapore

    Professionals, Managers, Executives and Technicians (PMETs) must meet the following criteria to be eligible for WSG salary support.

    • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident with little or no prior experience in the identified market

      For companies interested in the program or with suitable candidates, please CLICK HERE to apply with the following information for SBF to verify eligibility. SBF will then arrange a meeting to discuss the program and the application process:

      1) Candidate Latest CV
      2) Official Job Description
      3) Latest Company ACRA (within 6 months)

       

      Please note that SBF will require around 2 - 3 weeks to review the application after all necessary information and documents are submitted.
