In response to sweeping U.S. tariffs, SBF urged businesses to reduce reliance on the U.S. market, strengthen compliance, and explore regional opportunities via Singapore’s free trade agreements. SBF CEO Kok Ping Soon noted that despite Singapore’s favourable 10% base tariff, global disruptions remain a challenge, with 71% of local firms operating offshore. He called on businesses to use this period to deepen regional ties and uphold free and fair trade.
