SBF has partnered with Accenture to launch the Women of Worth (WoW) programme, offering free tech training to 10,000 female Singapore citizens and PRs not employed by Accenture, who are returning to work after maternity leave or career breaks. Aligned with the SG Women in Tech campaign, the initiative supports workforce reintegration and helps tackle the global tech talent gap.
Singapore’s e-commerce sector faces challenges like competition and shifting consumer behaviors. To help local SMEs, platforms like Shopee and Amazon have launched initiatives. The Amazon Global Selling Singapore Cross-border Launchpad, in partnership with Enterprise Singapore and SBF, aims to support 100 Singapore SMEs entering the U.S. market and equip 300 local companies with cross-border e-commerce skills by 2025.
SMEs drive Singapore’s economy, making up 99% of businesses and employing 71% of the workforce. While sectors like F&B are recovering, challenges in internationalisation persist. According to SBF National Business Survey 2024, nearly half of SMEs seek help with internationalisation and regulatory compliance. In response, SBF has refreshed its brand identity to better align with the evolving needs of local businesses, focusing on collaboration and collective growth.
The SBF SME Internationalisation Index highlights that ASEAN is the top region for Singapore businesses, both in terms of current overseas presence and future expansion interest. Key factors driving this appeal include market potential, trade infrastructure, and market readiness. Additionally, companies with existing international operations are more likely to express interest in further expanding abroad compared to those without such operations.
SBF invites you to join the IHRP Corporate Partner Programme (CPP) to empower your organisation’s HR and stay compliant with upcoming Workplace Fairness Legislation. Access curated HR resources, knowledge-sharing sessions, networking, job postings on IHRP’s website, and savings on certification fees. Seize this opportunity to strengthen your HR, manage risks, and stay competitive!
