Assistant Manager, Research & Publishing

As part of SBF’s continued efforts to strengthen its support for businesses and facilitate the growth of the business community, research plays a key role in providing timely and in-depth insights into Singapore’s business environment and issues that matter to the business community.

An integral part of the role includes primary research through the conduct of surveys/polls, focus group discussions, one-on-one interviews and other forms of engagements. The incumbent is also expected to manage the conduct of research across geographical markets, sectors and business subject matters, drawing insights and implications from data.

 Responsibilities:

  • Gather data and feedback through surveys and polls to understand and identify the needs, concerns and priorities of businesses.
  • Chart and track trends and key indicators across markets and sectors.
  • Conduct and facilitate focus group discussions and case study interviews.
  • Produce topical research reports, sector/country write-ups and market studies, among others.
  • Support the department by performing statistical analyses, managing databases and undertaking other preparatory work across the research value chain to facilitate the smooth execution of projects.
  • Work closely with respective business units to understand and distil key areas of interest and concerns.
  • Liaise, engage and collaborate with government agencies, think-tanks, trade associations, business chambers and the wider business community.
  • Present research findings to internal and external stakeholders at relevant platforms.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of work experience in a research or policy formulation role.
  • Strong inclination for writing and research, with a keen interest in conducting outreach and engagement.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to engage external stakeholders and businesses at various levels.
  • Proficient in organising and facilitating focus group discussions and interviews.
  • Ability to present research and data findings in a format that resonates with the business community.
  • Proficiency in any of the following tools would be an advantage: SPSS, Power BI and Tableau.
  • Possess a strong passion in helping Singapore businesses.
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to bring various parties together to achieve results.
