Singapore business interest is picking up in Central Asia as the region continues to provide new opportunities for business expansion and growth. Close to 20 Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) are expected to be exchanged during the Overseas Market Workshop (OMW) organised by the Singapore Business Federation (SBF) to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, in conjunction with President of the Republic of Singapore Mdm Halimah Yacob’s State Visit to both countries from 22 to 26 May 2023.

The Singapore Business Federation, with the support of Enterprise Singapore, organised an Overseas Market Workshop (OMW) held from 15 to 19 May 2023. The workshop involved a delegation of 20 senior business representatives from 16 companies who visited prominent Korean companies including Naver, SK Telecom, CJ Logistics, Daejeon Smart City, Hyundai Heavy Industries, and Muhak Brewery. The purpose of this visit is to gain insights into Korea's latest innovations and digitalisation advancements, while also exploring opportunities for enhanced collaboration between Singapore and Korea businesses in the field of innovation.

The Singapore Business Federation (SBF), in partnership with Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA) and Infocomm Media Development Authority of Singapore (IMDA), along with nine other ecosystem partners, has curated a series of activities under the MAP Initiative for Cyber Security and Digital Trust to help businesses strengthen their data protection, cyber security defense and response in today’s digital landscape. Held at the Lifelong Learning Institute, the launch of this initiative was graced by Senior Minister of State for Communications and Information Mr Tan Kiat How.

SBF announced the appointment of Mr Kok Ping Soon (郭柄汛) as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Mr Kok will assume the role of CEO-designate of SBF with effect from 1 April 2023 while concurrently serving as Chief Executive (CE) of the Government Technology Agency (GovTech). Mr Kok will be appointed as CEO of SBF from 1 June 2023 and relinquish his role as CE of GovTech.
