We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sustainability Advisor to join our team and provide guidance to small and medium sized businesses on sustainability related tracking, measurement, and compliance reporting matters as well as to provide guidance on pathways towards improving their sustainability performance. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in sustainability practices, possess excellent analytical skills, and demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities

• Advise small and medium sized businesses on the development and implementation of sustainability tracking and measurement systems.
• Guide businesses in understanding sustainability compliance requirements and reporting frameworks.
• Advise businesses on sustainability best practices, assessments required to identify areas of improvement and the development of mitigation action plans.
• Stay informed about emerging trends, regulations and technologies in the field of sustainability.
• Suggest areas of competency gaps that small and medium businesses face in improving their sustainability performance.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, sustainability, business management, or a related field. Master’s degree is a bonus.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of practical experience in sustainability consulting or related roles
• Knowledge of carbon accounting methodologies such as GHG Protocol and familiarity with ISO 14001, 14064
• Strong understanding of sustainability principles, frameworks, and reporting standards (e.g. GRI, SASB, CDP)
• Proven track record in developing and implementing sustainability tracking and measurement systems
• Familiarity with relevant environmental and social regulations and compliance requirements
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends
• Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information to diverse audiences.
