PARTNERS OF SBF FOR THE MAP INITIATIVE
ABOUT SBF'S MAP INITIATIVE

With companies showing greater interest in sustainability, SBF launched the MAP on Sustainability initiative in September 2022, with a focus on helping companies embark on their sustainability journey, starting with the adoption of energy-efficient solutions or green energy.

We welcome companies from all sectors to take part in this initiative. To encourage more companies to learn more about decarbonisation and energy efficiency, Stage M and A are complimentary. SBF members will be given priority to join any of our MAP activities.

WHAT IS MAP?

Analogous to journeying to the destination with the help of a map, SBF is working with Energy Market Authority (EMA), Global Compact Network Singapore (GCNS), GIC, Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP), Singapore Green Building Council (SGBC), SP Digital, TotalEnergies ENEOS, TUV SUD, UOB Finlab and Workforce Singapore (WSG) to create pathways to guide companies through every stage of their journey towards decarbonisation and energy efficiency.

Step M

Mindset Shift
Step M

To seek common understanding that as one way to futureproof themselves, companies should integrate sustainability into their business operations. As a starting point, companies can consider cost-saving measures in decarbonisation and energy efficiency.

Step A

Analysis of Potential
Step A

To calculate existing carbon footprint and energy consumption levels and be provided with recommendations to optimise efficiency.

Step P

Pathway Assignment
Step P

To be guided to and embark on the appropriate programmes under SBF or our partner agencies.

HOW DOES MAP HELP COMPANIES?

The MAP is designed to achieve three outcomes:

  • Break down sustainability into modular steps and encourage more companies to embark on the journey
  • Address business-specific concerns through customised journey of change to suit companies of differing sizes and readiness
  • Create flexible transformation pathways that allow companies to enter and exit at each stage

Our pilot run of MAP has benefited more than 500 participants from 300 companies across all sectors. To find out how some companies have tapped on the MAP initiative for their business transformation journey, please download our report here.
