By Lam Yi Young

With the start of the new year, many companies are looking at ways to emerge stronger from the pandemic. It is encouraging to note that based on findings from SBF’s National Business Survey , SMEs that reported being negatively impacted by the pandemic fell from 63% in 2020 to 34% in 2021. This means that two-thirds of SMEs are recovering from the pandemic and are adapting well to the new normal. What’s more, about half are optimistic about improved business and economic conditions in 2022. This is a significant jump from 29% last year, an encouraging sign that sentiment amongst SMEs is indeed picking up.
