ASEAN Business Advisory Council (Singapore)

Aligned with the Chairmanship of ASEAN, Singapore held the Chairmanship of ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN BAC) in 2018. The ASEAN BAC was inaugurated in April 2003 following the decision of the ASEAN leaders at the 7th ASEAN Summit in Bandar Seri Bengawan, Brunei Darussalam on 5 - 6 November 2001. The ASEAN BAC is mandated by the ASEAN leaders as the official ASEAN linkage to provide private sector feedback and guidance to boost ASEAN's effort towards economic integration, to identify priority areas for consideration by the ASEAN leaders, and to provide policy recommendations to the ASEAN leaders.

The Singapore Business Federation is appointed by the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Singapore to perform the role of the national secretariat for ASEAN BAC (Singapore), in providing support for the works of ASEAN BAC (Singapore) Council Members.

Key Events of ASEAN BAC


ASEAN Business Awards (ABA)
The ASEAN Business Awards aim to focus the spotlight on promising ASEAN companies, and acknowledge them as role models for other ASEAN companies to emulate.  Nomination for ABA 2019 starts from June to August 2019, and winners will be announced at the Gala Night in held in November, in Bangkok, Thailand.

ASEAN Business and Investment Summit
The ASEAN Business & Investment Summit is a mandated activity of ASEAN BAC. It will be held in November in conjunction with ASEAN Summit. The ABIS is a platform for political leaders to share their views on the business and investment landscape in ASEAN. The summit will also touch on key topics related to ASEAN.
