SBF SME Committee
The SME Committee (SMEC) provides a platform for SMEs to discuss, research and analyse SME business issues with policymakers. Its aim is to create a business-friendly Singapore through informed perspectives and constructive resolution. SMEC’s team of researchers collects data and carries out analysis to lend weight to its findings and recommendations relating to the SME landscape.The SMEC was established on 7 December 2011 by SBF as a key platform for SME engagement on business issues, and to help SMEs build capabilities and access markets. Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry Mr Chee Hong Tat and Minister of State for Manpower Mr Zaqy Mohamad serve on the Committee as Advisors, helping garner public sector support for SMEC’s initiatives
Some of the work of the SMEC include the Budget Recommendations, the Fair Tenancy Framework and the Position Paper on Population.
