Singapore, Thursday, 12 November 2009 - More than 1500 business leaders from various parts of the world gathered in Singapore at Global Entrepolis @ Singapore (GES) 2009 on 11th and 12th of November 2009 for two days of high energy, high power knowledge exchange and business networking.
Jointly presented by the Singapore Business Federation and the Singapore Economic Development Board, GES returned for its sixth edition this year, coinciding with the APEC Week in Singapore, and playing host to the APEC SME Summit 2009.
Themed "Building Connections, Unlocking Opportunities", with a special focus on SMEs, GES showcased to business leaders how new opportunities and innovative strategies can be applied to steer their businesses in the post-recession world.
In addition to the APEC SME Summit 2009, which highlighted the importance of SMEs as the cornerstone of all economies, GES also saw various country business forums, networking activities, business matching sessions and an awards night over the two days of knowledge and business exchange.
SMEs took centre-stage as global business leaders, such as Mr. Scott Davis, Global Chairman and CEO of UPS, and Mr. Jack Ma, Chairman and CEO of the Alibaba Group, shared the secrets of success and best practices applicable to all companies regardless of size. GES delegates across all industries gained exclusive access to thought leadership, partnership and networking opportunities to learn the how-to's of capacity building for their own business and to continue to grow despite adversity.
