Singapore, Tuesday, 31 March 2009 - SBF member MTQ Corporation Limited, a leading engineering solutions provider specializing in the fabrication, repair and maintenance of oilfield equipment, recently obtained in-principle approval from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of the Kingdom of Bahrain to provide services to the oil and gas industry in Bahrain and the Gulf States.

MTQ, a member of SBF's Middle East Business Group business facilitation activities, will invest US$20 million over the next two to three years to construct a state- of-the-art facility to service existing and new clients.

Kuah Kok Kim, Chairman and CEO of MTQ (the third person from the right in the picture), said, "SBF-MBEG activities provided useful and broad perspectives on doing business in the Middle East region and their activities served as a good platform for member companies to access business opportunities in the region. One such activity was SBF CEO Teng Theng Dar's facilitation of a breakfast dialogue with the Crown Prince of Bahrain when the latter was on an official visit to Singapore in October 2008. Through this event, we had the opportunity to reinforce our commitment to do business in the country with the Crown Prince and obtain value advice and support for our project there."

"We are delighted that our facilitation efforts have helped MTQ advance their business activities in Bahrain and the Gulf States. This is proof that business platforms like the Middle East Business Group are useful in helping our members network and tap into opportunities overseas" said SBF CEO, Teng Theng Dar.
