Member Exemption
On the recommendation of the SBF council and the endorsement of the Board of Trustees, the Ministry of Trade and Industry has enacted the SBF (Exemption) Order to annually exempt from mandatory SBF membership any local or foreign company which satisfies the Council that it did not or does not have any employees during a specific period.
2013 Exemption Application
If your company does not or did not have any employees from 1 Jan to 31 Dec 2012, your company qualifies for exemption and may now apply for SBF membership exemption for year 2013. Please follow the instructions stated on form E and mail the exemption application forms and supporting documents by 30 Nov 2012.
If the exemption form is not received by the deadline 30 Nov 2012, or the company does not qualify for exemption, the invoice for 2013 subscription fee will be generated and the fee is payable.
Upon receipt of your exemption application by 30 Nov 2012 for our processing, your company will not need to pay for the 2013 subscription fee if the exemption is approved.

Instructions
Please complete and MAIL the following original forms and documents to SBF:
Form E (Application form & Statement by Director) and the most recent audited accounts of the Company OR
Form E (Application form & Statement by Director) and documents to support its Exempt Private company’s status like BizFile, Annual filing to ACRA; OR
Form E (Application form & Statement by Director) and the latest company management account and bizfile from ACRA for newly formed companies in its first two years; OR
Form E (Application form) and Statutory Declaration by a Director of the Company before Commissioner of Oath/Notary Public/Justice of Peace (see E2 - sample format)

Note: SBF subscription fees is due yearly, a company which qualifies for membership exemption needs to apply for such exemption annually by the stipulated deadline. Exempted companies will not enjoy any SBF membership benefits during the exempted year. Incomplete applications will delay in processing of applications for exemption.

The annual subscription fees for Constituent Member is $2000.

Note:
1) Membership continues on an annual basis till we receive at least one (1) month’s written notice of
termination from the company.
2) Membership fee (annual or pro-rated) is payable up to the date of receipt of the termination notice.
