LAUNCH OF THE NEW SAC ACCREDITATION SCHEME FOR BUSINESS CONTINUITY MANAGEMENT (BCM) CERTIFICATION

The Singapore Accreditation Council (SAC) has launched the accreditation scheme for Business Continuity Management (BCM) Certification.

The accreditation of certification bodies will be based on ISO/IEC Guide 17021:2006, the applicable IAF mandatory documents and SAC CT 08 – SAC Criteria for Certification Bodies (Business Continuity Management). A copy of SAC CT 08 is enclosed for your reference. Certification bodies have to certify organizations to SS 540:2008 – Singapore Standard for Business Continuity Management (BCM).

The accreditation scheme will provide third party assurance that certification bodies are competent in providing BCM certification to SS 540. The accreditation scheme would also support the national BCM programme and increase industry’s confidence of BCM certification provided by accredited certification bodies.
