The Work Injury Compensation Act (Amendment) Bill was passed in Parliament in Nov 2011. The amendments aim to 1) strike a fair balance between compensation for injured employees and the obligations placed on employers/insurers and 2) ensure that the framework of Work Injury Compensation Act (WICA) remains expeditious and employees are able to receive compensations promptly.
