In conjunction with H.E. Leonidas Cristino’s, Minister of Ports of Brazil, visit to Singapore, the Singapore Business Federation (SBF), Embassy of Brazil in Singapore and the Trade and Investment Promotion Department of the Ministry of External Relations of Brazil are proud to present the Seminar on Trade and Investment Opportunities in Brazil’s Port and Logistics Sectors and Networking Session. With Brazil undergoing major modernization of its ports, transport and logistics infrastructure at present, participants will be accorded the unique opportunity to learn more on existing opportunities from Minister Cristino and accompanying officials.
Brazil’s recent economic transformation has consolidated its status as a nation of massive commercial potential and investment opportunities. Increasing economic modernization and social development contributed to robust GDP growth of 7.5% in 2010 and greatly encouraged foreign businesses to invest over $48 billion in Brazil’s economy in the same period.
As the 8th largest economy in the world and an increasingly important global trade destination, Brazil’s government has been extremely proactive in outlining plans to modernise the country’s infrastructure. Together with Brazil’s hosting of the 2014 FIFA World Cup and 2016 Olympic Games, this has led to a planned overhaul of the ports, transport and logistics and outlining of major projects and opportunities.
