With increasing cross-border business transactions, businesses are making more payments to non-Singapore resident recipients. Taxpayers are obliged to withhold taxes on certain payments to non-residents and remit the tax withheld to IRAS within a stipulated time frame. The withholding tax rate involved could go up to as high as 17% or 20%. With hefty penalties of an additional 15% imposed for non-compliance, it is therefore imperative for businesses to gain an understanding of the withholding tax law.
Gain practical advice on how to manage your withholding tax risks and obligation in this half-day workshop, and insights into some of these likely issues: “Will you be able to recover the withholding tax amount from non-resident recipients?”
“What do you have to watch out for in commercial contracts to address this issue?”
“Will the double tax agreement provisions benefit you in any way to mitigate such tax risk?”
Having a better understanding of these issues will help to minimise your company’s tax risks and reduce potential tax liabilities which in any event will not be tax deductible.
