The Ministry of Trade & Industry (MTI) would like to conduct consultation with members of the Singapore Business Federation (SBF) to better understand the barriers that SMEs might face in utilising Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) and study on how the government can help SMEs better tap on the FTAs that Singapore signs with other countries.
Details of the consultation are as follows:
Date: Thu 16 Jun 2011
Venue: SBF Meeting Room 2
MTI will be gathering feedback specifically on the utilisation of the following FTAs: ASEAN-China FTA, China-Singapore FTA and India - Singapore Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement.
The consultation session will be guided by the following key questions:
What kind of barriers does your company face when doing business overseas?
Have our FTAs helped your company to overcome these barriers?
What factors affect your company’s decision to make use of FTAs?
How have the FTAs been useful in growing your business? Which aspects were most and least useful?
How can government agencies make it easier for companies to make use of FTAs?
Your feedback is important in helping MTI understand the issues faced by SMEs in utilising Singapore's FTAs, and to come up with possible solutions to address them. All information collected through the consultation sessions will be kept strictly confidential.
If your company is keen to participate in the consultation, please contact Kelly Lim at DID: 6827 6863 or email kelly.lim@sbf.org.sg by 14 Jun.
