2 Day Certification course - organised by SBF in collaboration with an approved bizSAFE Training Provider, by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) to help SBF members embark on the bizSAFE journey.
Extension of the Workplace Safety and Health Act- 1 September 2011, the Act will cover all workplaces to ensure the wellbeing of everyone at work. Under the Act, workplaces are required to have in place proper risk management. This also involves risk assessment, and communicating the risks and control measures to all employees.
Managing risks at your workplace- Risk management is a key component of the Act. Risks need to be managed to prevent accidents.
Business Advantage –Safety and health comes first among the core functions in a business management process, which also helps in productivity, profitability, competitiveness and compliance with the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Act.
The bizSAFE programme -a five-step programme to assist SMEs build up their WSH capabilities in order to achieve quantum improvements in safety and health standards at the workplace. SMEs are guided through a journey, starting from top management demonstrating their commitment towards WSH, to acquiring risk management capabilities and implementing a WSH Management System.

Learning Objectives & Pedagogy
1. Introduce Risk Management (RM) concept and its methodology
2. Upon completion of the workshop, participants will be awarded the bizSAFE level 2 certification recognised by the Workplace Safety & Health Council for application for organization’s application to be bizSAFE Level 2 status.
3. Lectures, discussions and practical exercises to help participants internalize concepts and principles to apply it at their workplace
Target Audience
Safety Personnel, Line Supervisors, Safety Representatives from the various departments.
Team Leaders/Champions who are tasked with the responsibilities to carry out risk assessments lead and/or manage the risk of a workplace.
Trainer's Profile
Mr Sivaraman Marimuthu, Senior Auditor, AJA Registrars Pte Ltd is a Certified Trainer for bizSAFE Level 1, 2 & 4. He has also conducted classes for Graduate Certificate in WSH and Other MOM Approved Courses such as CSCPM, BCSS, LSSC etc.
Sivaraman holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil & Structural Engineering and a Masters in Environmental Engineering. His expertise lies mainly in the construction sector but has conducted various compliance audits and trainings in various industries like chemical, marine, electronics and logistics. Sinvaraman is a MOM registered WSHO, approved Auditor and Risk Consultant. He is also registered with NEA as an Environmental Control Officer and a Fire Safety Manager with SCDF. He is an IRCA (UK) registered Lead Auditor for QMS, OHSAS 18001 & IEMA (UK) and an EMS registered Lead Auditor.
