Singapore has two 2 Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) with China. Both the China-Singapore FTA (CSFTA) and the ASEAN-China FTA (ACFTA) provides for zero tariffs on more than 90% of products traded between Singapore and China. As of 2010, the total trade value between China and Singapore reached S$95.3 billion, an increase of 25.9% over 2009. By tapping on these FTAs, Singapore-originating goods can potentially enjoy tariff concessions and greater price competitiveness in China and ASEAN.

In addition, the 2nd Protocol to Amend the Agreement on Trade In Goods of the Framework Agreement on Comprehensive Economic Co-operation between ASEAN and China was signed in October 2010. The changes to the Operational Certification Procedure include the implementation of Movement Certificate (Back-to-Back Arrangement) and the Third Party Invoicing on 1 Jan 2011. Find out how your products may benefit from these new procedures.

Besides covering trade in goods, this Seminar will also focus on trade in services and investment opportunities. Participants will also be briefed on the practical issues and real life case studies on doing business in China. Companies which have investments in Singapore, other ASEAN countries and China or have plans to venture into China are encouraged to attend this seminar where you will learn how to capitalize on CSFTA and ACFTA and expand your business into China and ASEAN.
