The Singapore Business Federation (SBF) and the Embassy of Brazil are co-organising a road show on “Rio de Janeiro: Investment Opportunities”. Led by the Rio de Janeiro Investment Promotion Agency, this road show will focus exclusively on the existing and emerging investment opportunities across various key sectors in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. More importantly, this road show will help interested Singapore companies to learn about Rio de Janeiro’s economic and commercial environment and also understand the latest market developments.

As Brazil’s second largest city and the third largest city in Latin America, Rio de Janeiro is home to a young and vibrant population of over six million people. As a recognised commerce and services centre, Rio de Janeiro is a key driving force of the overall Brazilian economy. The city also boasts 6 of the 13 largest Brazilian companies, contributing to over 40% of the total net earnings of Brazil’s 100 largest companies.

In light of Brazil’s increasing prominence as the 8th largest economy in the world and a major port destination, plans have been outlined to modernise Rio de Janeiro’s infrastructure, with more than US$30 billion in private and public investments being allocated towards infrastructure projects in the coming years.
