The Singapore Business Federation, NZ-US Council, and the US-APEC Business Coalition, is pleased to invite you to attend a Seminar on "Walking the talk - The Trans Pacific Partnership as a pathway to the Free Trade Area of the Asia Pacific", to be held on 11 November 2010, on the sidelines of the APEC Economic Leaders Meeting in Yokohama, Japan.

The Trans Pacific Strategic Economic Partnership Agreement (TPP), which was signed between Singapore, New Zealand, Brunei Darussalam and Chile, came into force in 2006. The TPP aims to be a comprehensive, high-quality 21st century agreement that will hopefully be a building block towards APEC's long term goal of a Free Trade Area of the Asia Pacific (FTAAP). As of 2010, five other economies, namely, Peru, Australia, the United States, Viet Nam and Malaysia, have joined in the TPP negotiation table.

Featuring APEC Trade Ministers, Business Leaders and Thought Leaders, this seminar aims to
  • Draw attention to the TPP opportunity in the APEC context
  • Build understanding of how TPP can be a pathway towards an FTAAP
  • Demonstrate and expand business support for the TPP initiative

Participation at this seminar is free but advance registration is required. Please register your attendance by emailing to fionacc@clear.net.nz by 3 November 2010. Please note that participants have to make own transport and accommodation arrangement as the seminar will be held in Yokohama, Japan. For further enquiry you may wish to write to ABAC Singapore Secretariat at abacsg@sbf.org.sg
