Introduction
The Singapore Business Federation (SBF) is pleased to collaborate with approved bizSAFE Training Provider by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) to organise this workshop in helping organisations embark on the bizSAFE journey.
Risk Management Course is for those who are responsible for carrying out risk assessments, including line managers, supervisors, and safety representatives conducted by the bizSAFE service providers. Upon completion of the workshop, an organization company will be granted bizSAFE Level 2 status.

Business Advantage - A safe and healthy business environment helps in productivity, profitability, competitiveness and compliance with the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Act, which will be extended to cover ALL workplaces by March 2011.

The bizSAFE programme is a five-step programme to assist SMEs build up their WSH capabilities in order to achieve quantum improvements in safety and health standards at the workplace. SMEs are guided through a journey, starting from top management demonstrating their commitment towards WSH, to acquiring risk management capabilities and implementing a WSH Management System.

Objectives/Target Audience
By the end of the workshop, Top Management / EHS personnel / Line Supervisors / Team Leaders will gain a better understanding on the legal requirements, identifying, evaluating and minimizing risks and implementing and reviewing control measures.

Trainer- Mr G. Vivekananthan is an engineer by profession holding a post graduate degree in engineering and he is approved by MOM as Accredited Trainer for conducting various Occupational Safety and Health training courses. He is highly qualified and experienced, having various professional qualifications from MOM and recognized education institutions. With more than 18 years of experience and exposure to various industries and sectors in the field of Occupational Safety and Health, he is able to impart relevant and up-to-date knowledge on the legislations and concepts to the participants

    - Forming a RM team involving company line operation
    - Chairing a Risk Assessment meeting

3 Hands-on Exercise 1
Establish the scope of the RM plan
    - Roles and responsibilities of individuals in the company
    - Listing down the various job functions in the company
4 Hazard Identification, including how to identify the various hazards in the workplace,
e.g. mechanical, electrical, chemical, slips and falls, chemical, fire, etc

5 Risk Evaluation
    - Introduce the concept of Likelihood and Severity
    - Risk ranking and risk matrix
6 Hands-on Exercise 2
Establish the Hazard Identification and Risk Evaluation Methodology for your company
7 Implementing Control Measures
    - Concept of ALARP
    - Principle of Hierarchy of Control for mitigating risk
    - Managing residual risks
    - Developing Safe Work Procedures
    - Establish training for risk control
    - Reviewing effectiveness of Control Measures
8 Hands-on Exercise 3
Establish the Control Measures methodology for your company
9 Hazard Communication
Change Management
10 Hands-on Exercise 4
Consolidate the RM Plan and include a suitable time frame for its implementation
