Following the "Suzhou Industrial Park" and the "Tianjin Eco-City", another China-Singapore Project - the "Knowledge City"- located in the northern part of the Guangzhou Science Town, will begin construction soon after the signing of the partnership agreement on this project and groundbreaking ceremony that will take place in end June 2010.
The Knowledge City will cover an area of 123 square kilometers, with a built-up area of 60 square kilometers. It is envisaged to be a vibrant and ecologically friendly city with conducive conditions for attracting talent, skilled manpower and knowledge-based industries.
The Knowledge City will be positioned as a model and catalyst for Guangdong Province’s industrial upgrading and ecologically sustainable growth. It will focus on the development of 8 pillar industry clusters namely information technology, bio-technology, energy and environmental protection, advance manufacturing, R & D, creative, education and training, life and health.
Singapore companies which have investments in China or plan to venture into China are cordially invited to attend the first briefing on the “Knowledge City” project so as to seize the business opportunities in the Knowledge City in Guangzhou.
