What exactly goes on behind the minds of Investors when they evaluate your business? What do they think makes profitable sense? Why are they seemingly uninterested in your impressive business models? How do they place a value on what your business is worth?

Common Misconceptions:

  • Getting funding from Investors is much easier than from banks
  • Paying dividends to Investors will keep them happy
  • It is easy to "get rid" of Investors when you become profitable
  • There is no need to pay back the Investors if the business fails

These are common misconceptions which could lead to businesses failing to secure investor funding and result in serious disputes between the investors and business owners.

How do you get investors to put money in your business, and work with you to grow the money instead of becoming a burden?

Objectives of this Workshop:

  • Challenging participants to think beyond profitability and appreciating the concept of unleashing value from businesses using the capital gains concepts.
  • Providing participants with insights to various other equity financing options. e.g. seed funds, private equity, mezzanine, venture capital & initial public offerings(IPOs)
  • Providing participants with pointers on getting investors to work with the business instead of becoming stumbling blocks.

Trainer:

Mr. Wee Chin Chuan is the Executive Director and Principle Consultant of Oriel Management Consulting. He had previously led numerous project financing, acquisitions and divestment transactions in Asia. Current engagements include corporate strategy, financial restructuring and capital mandates with Singapore SMEs from the Food & Beverage, Contract Manufacturing, Telco & Media, Information Technology, Logistics & Warehousing and Merchandising sectors.

Mr. Wee graduated with a Masters in Engineering and a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering (1st Class Honours) from NUS. He also holds an MBA in International Business and Finance from Imperial College Management School of London.
