The Workplace Safety and Health Act(WSHA) have been in force since 2006. The current scope of the WSH Act covers all factories and certain workplaces.

With effect from September 2011, the scope of WSH Act will be EXTENDED to ALL workplaces. Do you know how your business will be affected and what you need to do to prepare for it? Do you know what will happen to your business, if your employees or customers are injured due to an accident in your place of work or business?

Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) issues have traditionally been an area of focus for industries deemed more hazardous such as construction and marine. However, even with lesser fatality rates in the service, hospitality and retail industries it does not mean that there are no WSH issues in these industries. Accidents such as slip/trips, cuts, burns and scald, exposure to hazardous chemicals and even fires could still happen. Ergonomic and health issues are also common place for these industries as a result of poor postures and lifting/ handling techniques.

This half day seminar aims to provide an overview on-
1) How to prevent and minimise accidents in the workplace
2) Having a good workplace safety and health practices
