At the STF Conference on Managing Manpower Challenges today, 26 Jan 2010 at Suntec City, Mr Gan Kim Yong, Manpower Minister announced a proposed employment dispute resolution process for PMEs (Professionals, Manages & Executives). The process will leverage on the strong tripartism framework that exists in Singapore. The key features of the process proposed are:
a) Allow PMEs earning up to $4,500 to have access to tripartite mediation and arbitration
b) Allowing such PMEs to join the union as a member and be represented for mediation
c) Limit the mediation to areas such as salary arrears, breach of employment terms and retrenchment claims
The Singapore Business Federation (SBF), together with the Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF) is pleased to organize the briefing on proposed PMEs Dispute Resolution process for our members to explain the proposal and gather feedback.
