The Singapore Business Federation (SBF) is pleased to support the Business Mission to Perth, Australia
from 7-11 March 2011.
Mission Objective
Organised by the Singapore Stock Exchange (SGX), the visit to Perth, Australia will provide Singapore businessmen the opportunity to get a first-hand look into the emerging opportunities that Western Australia offers and more importantly, allow them to meet with key government officials, agencies, private companies and trade associations who are directly involved in the planning, development and facilitation of Western Australia’s major resource, industrial and infrastructure projects.
Participants will also be able to network with major Mining, Resources and Energy industry players and gain key insights into market conditions and sector-specific trends. Established Australian financial institutions will also provide an in-depth look into Western Australia’s economic and fiscal conditions and highlight the regulations and policies relevant to investing and doing business in Australia.

Spotlight on Western Australia
As Australia’s key export market, Western Australia has seen its national economic role increase exponentially in recent times. In 2009-10, Western Australia’s GSP (Gross State Product) accounted for 14.6% (A$187.8billion) of the overall Australian GDP – due to sustained growth in its traditional sectors of Mining, Resources, Energy and Agriculture; and expansion in Finance, Insurance, Property and Construction sectors. With its ongoing economic transformation and increasing relevance as a region, Western Australia has become Australia’s fast-growing state as of June 2010, with recent growth spurts culminating in an approximate population of 2.3million people.

Preliminary estimates indicate that individual participant cost is anticipated to be approximately S$2,000-S$2,500, inclusive of air fare (economy), accommodation and on-the-ground transfers (where applicable).
