However, different countries are in different stages of GHS implementation. The ultimate objective of GHS is to enhance the protection of human against hazardous chemicals through harmonised communication of hazard information of chemicals, and to facilitate international trade in that all chemicals moving into and out of a country can be classified, packaged and labelled in accordance with a globally harmonised system.
