Risk management is essential in all organisations and plays an integral role in organisations' decision-making and strategic planning. Risks from financial markets, project failures, legal liabilities and natural causes are only some of the more important risks. Effective risk management helps enterprises gain greater insights into the risks and implications associated with every business decision, thereby maximising business performance.
The international standard ISO 31000:2009, Risk Management – Principles and Guidelines and ISO Guide 73, Risk Management - Vocabulary was published on 15 November 2009. The ISO 31000 standard provides a framework to guide organisations in their risk management process. It seeks to integrate this process into the organisation's overall governance, strategy and planning, management, reporting processes, policies, values and culture.
The standard can be used by all types of enterprises for a wide range of activities, including strategies and decisions, operations, processes, functions, projects, products, services and assets. This seminar will provide insights into the ISO 31000 standard and the application of risk management in specific situations
