The Singapore Business Federation (SBF) is pleased to support the Turkish Buying Mission Programme: Istanbul Fashion Week 2010. The buying mission, organized in conjunction with the Istanbul Fashion Week, aims to introduce ‘new’ importers to the Turkish market and provides opportunities for exchange in Textile industry. Turkey is one of the leading countries in textile and clothing both in production and in exports. In 2008, Turkey’s export realized at 15.7 billion USD for clothing and 6.8 billion USD for textile products and these sectors had a share of 13 % and 9% respectively in Turkey’s total exports.

The Istanbul Fashion Week is organized by the General Secretariat of the Istanbul Textile & Apparel Exporters’ Association, in cooperation with the Fashion Designers Association and Istanbul Fashion Academy. It is an enormous fashion event with trade fairs and fashion shows by various designers and brands, and will bring together all businesses related to fashion under a single umbrella in an organized platform.

We encourage SBF members from the Textile and Fashion related sector to join this buying mission. Participants will also be briefed on the economic and commercial opportunities present in Turkey and will have ample opportunities to make bilateral meetings with the Turkish counterparts. The Istanbul Textile & Apparel Exporters’ Association will be organising visits to the various facilities and tours exploring the vibrant city of Istanbul for participants of this mission.
