"Last year, we had organized an India International Agri Expo (IIAE -08) highlighting profitable businesses based on organic agriculture. Producers from India and Consumers/ Importers and other business delegates from Europe participated in the fair. Encouraged by the tremendous success of the fair of the 2008, we, Foundation for Organic Agriculture and Rural Development, Directorate of Arecanut and Spices Development and The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) Kerala have decided to hold the IIFAE -09 (India International Food and Agri Expo -09) from November 19th to 21st, 2009 at Gokulam Convention Center, near Ernakulam Town (North) Railway Station, Cochin, Kerala, India.

A two-day workshop on Value Addition of Spices will be an added attraction to IIFAE’09. The event will focus on technical up-gradation of agricultural production, post harvest handling and processing, quality assurance and market linkages. With this in mind, state-of-the-art technologies, new concepts, innovations and equipments/machineries related to agricultural sector will be showcased at this exhibition.

There will also be technical seminars, B2B meet & discussions involving experts from various fields during the three days of the event. Topics like Horticulture, Floriculture, Organic Agriculture, Aquaculture, Farm Mechanization, Green House Technology, Value Addition and Processing of Agri Products, Farm Tourism, Emerging Marketing Opportunities in Agri Sector etc. will be covered in these technical seminars.

Kerala is the leading producer of spices like Pepper, Vanilla, Turmeric, Nutmeg etc., and plantations crops like Coffee, Tea, Rubber and other agri commodities. The exhibition will serve as a unique platform for the International Companies to showcase the latest technologies available and will help the progressive farmers in the state to develop or adapt to the latest technologies available in the market.
