OBJECTIVES
The key objectives for this mission are to:
1. Identify key opportunities for Singapore companies in Israel’s innovative CleanTech industry
2. Identify technology partners for environmental and renewable sectors
INTRODUCTION OF ISRAEL’S CLEANTECH SECTOR
Having no extensive resources of fossil fuels, it was only natural for Israel to become a pioneer in researching alternative energy possibilities. The search for renewable energy solutions occupies the minds of many researchers, in the private and academic sector, throughout the country. In other areas, Israeli researchers are using their expertise to develop technologies of global importance with little application possibilities in Israel. In the field of geo-thermal energy technologies, Israel's Ormat is a global leader.
Research of bio-fuels, and wind energy are a few other examples. It seems that in this area, the clear dangers of global warming and the struggle to find renewable energy sources are enough to keep local researchers, from the private and the academic sectors, in continuous search of new and innovative technologies
