Singapore Business Federation (SBF), supported by International Enterprise (IE) Singapore, is organizing a follow-up Business Mission to Hangzhou Qianjiang from 23 - 26 Nov 2009, which will also witness the
signing of the MOU with the local Hangzhou authorities on the setting up of a Hangzhou-Singapore Eco-Park. The mission will also coincide with the
first Green ICT overseas go-to-market initiative by IE Singapore and be accompanied by senior government officials.
There will be various briefings by local government officials, business networking and matching sessions, site visits to local companies and other business programmes.
About Hangzhou- Singapore Eco-Park (HSEP)
The Hangzhou-Singapore Eco-Park (HSEP) - a joint venture between Hangzhou-Qianjiang Economic Development Zone (HQEDZ) and Singapore-based CleanTech Partners Pte Ltd which is a consortium of Singapore-based clean technology companies, is to be built as an eco-industrial development zone, and adds Hangzhou City in Zhejiang Province of China to a growing list of Chinese cities on the international map of innovative green township development. The HSEP utilises clean technology and green strategies for energy generation, water management, waste and by-products exchanges, transportation and green buildings to enhance the competitiveness of businesses.
The special 5 km2 HSEP will house a variety of clean technology companies over a broad range of industries including clean energy (solar, wind. etc), green ICT, water, waste management, public health, manufacturing, advanced materials, industrial process controls, hybrid electric and natural gas vehicles, etc. Flexible development guidelines will characterise the new zone and encourage global investments performance by recognizing the unique needs of different businesses and industries.

The Hangzhou-Qianjiang Economic Development Zone (HQEDZ) is under the direct administration of the Hangzhou Municipal Government. It covers a planned area of 23.8 km2, most of whose infrastructure has been completed. The Zone already has underground infrastructure of water supply, sewage and drainage, heating, electric power, communication, cable TV ... etc.
Its major industries would have new energies and new materials as their special features; a high-tech industry with economic advantages characteristic of Hangzhou; a hub for ICT technologies; new medicine; and traditional industries with high technological support.
Target Companies: Companies across clean energy, green ICT, environmental services, industrial, manufacturing, property development, business process outsourcing, finance & investment, etc.
