Business Mission To China Guangxi & The 6th China-Asean Expo

The Singapore Business Federation (SBF) together with Singapore Manufacturers' Federation (SMa), Association of Small & Medium Enterprises (ASME) and China-ASEAN Expo Secretariat, with the support of IE Singapore, is organizing a Business Mission to China Guangxi (Nanning, Qinzhou and Beihai), from 17 to 24 October 2009, in conjunction with the visit to the 6th China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO). The main purpose of this mission is to explore Guangxi’s many business opportunities for Singapore companies. Briefings by local government officials, business networking and matching sessions, site visits to local companies and other business programmes will be specially arranged for you.
Situated at the south-western end of Chinese coastal area, Guangxi Beibu Gulf Economic Zone (BGEZ) is mainly composed of four cities, namely Nanning, Beihai, Qinzhou and Fangchenggang, with a landmass of 42,500 km2. It is regarded as the most convenient gateway to the sea for Southwest China, a crucial bridge and base for enhancing comprehensive cooperation between China and ASEAN. On 16 January 2008, BGEZ Development Scheme was approved by the Chinese Government. The opening and development of Guangxi BGEZ became a national strategy. BGEZ is entitled to preferential policies for western regions development, coastal open cities, autonomy of minority ethnic groups, and open border areas at the same time, making it the only one of its kind in China. On 29 May 2008, the Guangxi Qinzhou Bonded Port Area was approved and becomes the sixth bonded port area in China.
