Business Mission To Iran

EXPLORE IRAN, THE LARGEST MARKET IN MIDDLE EAST, with the Singapore Business Federation (SBF) from 2 – 8 October 2009.

The objectives of the mission are to:

MEET business partners and official contacts
The delegation will visit Tehran and Isfahan, the No.1 and 2 commercial centres in Iran. There will be a general track for all sectors and a specialised track for the Oil and Gas companies. The dates are as follow:

Highlights of the trip include visits to Iran Chamber (largest chamber in Iran) and Isfahan Chamber for business-matching session, networking sessions, briefings on doing business in Iran, information sessions with the authorities & government agencies & other meetings. This business mission aims to provide first hand understanding of the overall market & emerging sectors and establish useful business and official contacts.
About Iran
Iran was Singapore's 34th largest trading partner in 2008 and total bilateral trade stands at S$2.8 billion. Iran is the largest consumer market in the Middle East with a 65.87 million population and a GDP of US$842 billion (est 2008). Blessed with a huge oil reserve, Iran is currently the second largest oil producer within the OPEC. Apart from oil and gas, Iran has a significant agriculture, construction, manufacturing (e.g. automotive) and services (e.g financial services and tourism) sector.

* Estimated costs are inclusive of GST. Kindly note that amount quoted for the air fare and hotel accommodation is subjected to availability.
To encourage Singapore companies to venture overseas, there is IMAP reimbursement of up to 60% on air fare and accommodation of what the secretariat is claiming or whichever is lower for 1 representative per company.
Alternatively, eligible companies can apply to International Enterprise Singapore for double tax deduction for accommodation and air travel costs for up to 2 representatives per participating company. You can apply to this scheme at http://dtd.iesingapore.com but companies must make their application 7 days before departure.
