|

30 Aug - 5 Sep 2009
(7 Days, 6 Nights) |
|

The Singapore Business Federation – India Business Group (InBG) in collaboration with the Singapore Manufacturers Federation (SMa) is organizing a 7D/6N business mission to Tamil Nadu (Chennai and Coimbatore).
The key objective of this mission is to provide participants with the opportunity to meet and network with key industry and business organizations in Tamil Nadu for new collaborations.
Tamil Nadu is the southern-most state of India, which lies in the peninsula between the Bay of Bengal in the East, the Indian Ocean in the South, the Western Ghats and the Arabian Sea on the West. Capital city, Chennai occupies a vantage position for trade and commerce. It offers a network of excellent financial institutions and banks; modern telecommunication facilities and convenient connections to the rest of the country through air, rail and highway network. The per capita income in Tamil Nadu is amongst the highest in the country. Having grown from $421.2 in 2000 to $664.9 in 2008, it is substantially higher than the all-India per capita income of $514.2.
Coimbatore is the second largest city in the state of Tamil Nadu and is widely known as Manchester of southern India, it is also a part of the Kongu Nadu region of Tamil Nadu. The city's primary industries are engineering and textiles. Most of the industries are run by entrepreneurs, often indigenous with family based or community financing.
Key MNCs such as Ford Motors, Hyundai and Nokia have established their manufacturing units within the Chennai-Ciombatore industrial corridor. It is a power surplus state and is among the few that sells electricity to other nearby states.
Mission participants are also eligible to apply for up to 50% subsidy of economy return airfare, hotel accommodation & common costs (IMAP incentive)*.
