With technology advancement, these benefits could be further increased, as it will allow many services providers, especially women and small businesses, to participate in global valude chains. Many small businesses are in the Services sector. In line with this, Mr Ho called for the institutionalization of the Public-Private Sector Dialogue (PPD) on Services as a regular platform where both policy makers and other relevant stakeholders (e.g. businesses, academia, etc) can exchange information and insights on challenges and needs of both businesses and governments. The PPD on Services is a crucial step in putting the APEC Services Competitiveness Roadmap into action and fruition, which should be a shared responsibility of all relevant stakeholders in the process.
