SBF serves as a unified voice for Singapore’s growing business sector, advocating key issues impacting the Singapore business community both locally and internationally.
On the home front, SBF promotes engagement between Singapore businesses and the government through various initiatives, including the Position Paper for a Vibrant Singapore and the SME Committee (SMEC).
To help identify the key concerns and address the needs of SBF member companies and the wider business community, SBF conducts the annual National Business Survey, post-Budget survey, and the quarterly SBF-DP SME Index, the latter being a joint initiative with DP Information Group.
Internationally, SBF champions the Singapore business community on the global stage through participation in prominent international business forums. SBF represents Singapore in the B20 - a forum through which businesses produce policy recommendations for the G20 government leaders.
SBF also champions Singapore businesses' trade investment and industrial interests as the national secretariat at platforms such as the ASEAN Business Advisory Council and Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Business Advisory Council.
In addition, SBF is the national representative for the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). The ICC provides a platform for businesses and other organisations to examine and better understand the nature and significance of major shifts in the world economy. Through this arrangement, SBF members enjoy the convenience of purchasing ICC publications from SBF.
